The first Keep an Eye Talent Award has just been offered!

The Keep an Eye Talent Award has just been offered to Harp Master student Ian McVoy, in support of his research on the organology of the American harp. We are so proud!

The admissions committee of the Royal Conservatoire labels the play of the American harpist Ian McVoy as ‘genius’ and ‘unique’.
Ian is already a well-known name in the harp world. He is now coming to The Hague to study with new main subject teacher Sylvain Blassel. Ian is a finalist of the Dutch Harp Competition 2020 and previously won the first prize at the international harp competition in Mexico.
Ian specializes in both 18th century performance practice and jazz, and owns a number of historical harps. His interest in contemporary repertoire, jazz and historical performance practice, along with his experiences in transcribing works of Gerswhin in Copland for harp make him a special candidate for the Conservatoire.
