Gallery Pouloeuff
Promising young artists, photographers, (fashion) designers and sculptors get the chance to present their work at Gallery Pouloeuff. Located in the heart of the historic fortified town of Naarden-Vesting, the gallery offers an inspiring space where emerging talents can showcase their creations to the public, curators and art lovers from all over the world. The artists are literally and figuratively given a white wall on which to share their vision and artistic expression, giving their work a wider stage and allowing them to develop themselves professionally.
Over the years, Gallery Pouloeuff has seen many emerging artists grow into established names within the art world. Many of the talents who took their first steps here have later exhibited in renowned galleries, art institutions and international fairs. The gallery thus acts as a springboard for young creators who are at the beginning of their careers and want to develop further within the art sector. The space provides not only a physical stage, but also a platform for dialogue and connection between artists and art lovers.
Besides exhibitions, Gallery Pouloeuff also organises various collaborations, projects and other activitiesto further support young artists. Through inspiring events, artist talks and network meetings, the gallery offers a dynamic environment where talented creators have the chance to grow, expand their network and explore new opportunities.

Pouloeuff Art Shop
To make art even more accessible and give extra support to young talent, Pouloeuff is introducing a special concept. After each exhibition, each exhibiting artist will leave a smaller work in the gallery, which will be offered on a consignment basis. This means visitors have the chance to buy original artworks by promising artists at an attractive price. It is a great way not only to support young artists, but also to bring unique art into your home without needing a big budget.
These specially selected works are affordably priced, making art accessible to a wider audience. Buying a work from this collection offers art lovers a great opportunity to invest early in emerging talent. Since these artists are still at the beginning of their careers, chances are that their work will increase in value in the future. Who knows, in a few years your purchase might become a sought-after work of art, priced at prestigious exhibitions or art fairs!
Moreover, this initiative contributes to the support and visibility of young artists. By having their work hung at Gallery Pouloeuff, they remain connected to the gallery even after their exhibition and their name remains under the attention of collectors, art lovers and curators. This provides them with a long-term platform to raise their profile and connect with a wider audience.
For visitors, this is the perfect opportunity to add a first work of art to their collection or buy a special gift that is both creative and valuable. Moreover, it is a unique experience to own a work of art whose creator you got to know personally during the exhibition.
Want to be one of the first to get work by a promising artist into your home? Then drop by Gallery Pouloeuff and find out which artworks are currently available. Maybe a future masterpiece will soon be hanging on your wall!

The Pouloeuff Gallery Stipendium
As of 2023, all artists who have ever exhibited at Gallery Pouloeuff are eligible for the Pouloeuff Stipendium. This means that not only recent exhibitors, but also artists who have been involved with the gallery since its inception will have the chance to compete for this special grant. The stipend has a value of €7,500 and is intended to finance a residency of the artist’s choice.
This residency offers artists a unique opportunity to devote themselves fully to their artistic development, without the financial obstacles often involved in such projects. It can be a working period in an inspiring environment at home or abroad, a stay in an artists’ colony or a location of their own choosing where the artist can create new work in peace and quiet and further develop their artistic vision. This makes the Pouloeuff Stipendium an extremely valuable opportunity for emerging artists who want to deepen their practice and explore new avenues.
Every year, one (former) exhibitor of the gallery is selected by an independent, professional jury. This jury consists of experts from the art world, such as curators, gallery owners and art critics, who carefully assess which artist would most benefit from this support at that time. This selection procedure ensures that the stipend goes to a promising artist with a strong artistic vision and a clear motivation to take his or her work to the next level.
In addition to financial support, the Pouloeuff Stipend also offers the selected artist the chance to raise his or her profile within the art world. A successful residency can lead to new exhibitions, international collaborations and wider recognition. Moreover, the close relationship with Gallery Pouloeuff ensures that the winner of the stipend is permanently supported and presented within the gallery’s network.
With this initiative, Gallery Pouloeuff highlights its ongoing commitment to supporting young talent, not only at the time of their first exhibition, but also in the years that follow. By giving artists this extra incentive, the gallery helps them grow and develop further within the professional art circuit.
Wondering who the first winners of the Pouloeuff Stipendium will be? Then keep an eye on the gallery’s communication channels and find out which promising artist will get this prestigious opportunity to expand his or her artistic horizons!
Keep an Eye Spacemakers
What happens when Gallery Pouloeuff turns into both a creative studio and an exhibition space at the same time? In summer 2018, five young artists had the unique opportunity to further develop their artistic skills and concepts by exchanging techniques and ideas under the guidance of a renowned artist – in the first edition, this was Tanja Smeets. This special project, called ‘Keep an Eye Spacemakers’, offered an intensive and inspiring working environment in which the artists had to realise an entirely new exhibition in just one month.
With a limited time of only four weeks and the challenge of limited space within the gallery, the participants were forced to think outside the box. They not only worked individually on new work, but also created a cohesive exhibitiontogether that was inspired by their immediate surroundings. This meant they constantly had to respond to each other’s ideas and ways of working, leading to exciting experiments and unexpected artistic twists.
For the participating artists, the Keep an Eye Spacemakers project proved very valuable in several ways . Not only were they able to develop further within their own discipline, but they were also challenged to work together, push their boundaries and discover new ways of presenting. The intensive collaboration and direct contact with an experienced artist offered them new perspectives and a unique opportunity to expand their network within the art world.
But not only was this project a special experience for the artists themselves – visitors to Gallery Pouloeuffalso got to see something very special. For them, Spacemakers offered a unique look behind the scenes of the artistic process. Instead of just admiring the final result, visitors could see the artists in action, follow the creative process up close and even engage in conversation with the makers while they were at work. This created a dynamic and interactive experience where art and audience interacted in a new way.
Are you curious to see what it was like behind the scenes? Do you want to discover how young artists shape their ideas and create something new together? Keep an Eye Spacemakers offered a special opportunity not only for the artists, but also for the public to experience a unique process of creation and collaboration up close.
Spatial Crossovers
In the summer of 2023, the Grote Kerk Naarden will show impressive works by contemporary artists in collaboration with Galerie Poeloeuff. The installations engage with the centuries-old church building, on timeless themes of contemplation, inspiration and spirituality. In them, they find a shared experience and create a spatial bridge between then and now.
What was on show? Artist Cecilia Rebergen seeks that connection by exploring and distorting traditions, finding new ways. Her work Yield, Resist tells a universal story about the balance between control and unpredictability.
This contrast is also reflected in Maya Berkhof’s sculpture Weaving #5, which focuses on the need for protection on the one hand and the destructive nature of man on the other. How much space does a man occupy and how does this determine how he relates to his environment? This question is at the heart of the impressive sculptures Sarcophagus V and Ashes by Lucas Mergler.
The sculptures Compatibili differenze by Rebecca Cuschera and the installation Wolkenbruch by Sarah Reinbold highlight the inner side of human beings. From conversations between different identities expressed in materials to the emotional cloudburst that can follow great loss. But also the inspiration that can ensue, accompanied by a new awareness of the preciousness of life.
The sculptures from Tom Haakman’s series 404: religion not found leave the visitor with some essential questions. What influence does religion (still) have on the interpretation of our lives? And how can we use technology to create a utopian society?

Window of Opportunity
The Singer Museum in Laren saw a unique opportunity to present a monumental work of art in the large window opening of their new theatre foyer. This striking window not only offers a beautiful view outside, but also provides a special place to display art to both visitors inside the museum and passers-by outside. In collaboration with the Keep an Eye Foundation and their creative partner Gallery Pouloeuff, this opportunity was used to create a recurring art project that gives young artists a stage.
Once a year, a promising artist is selected from Pouloeuff’s Pool to create a specially designed artwork that perfectly complements the theatre’s architecture and the audience’s experience. This work must be visually appealing not only to people visiting the museum, but also to passers-by looking in from outside. Thus, art is literally and figuratively placed in the public space, reaching a wider audience and making art accessible in an accessible way.
Besides the aesthetic and spatial aspect of the artwork, this project offers the selected artists a valuable opportunity to showcase their work. Realising a work of art for a prestigious venue like the Singer Museum not only gives them a bigger stage, but also the opportunity to establish their name within the art world. This initiative helps them build a wider network, increase their visibility and strengthen their artistic practice.
For visitors to the Singer Museum and theatre, this changing artwork provides an always surprising experience. A new work of art is presented every year, giving the space an ever-changing appearance and challenging the audience to experience art differently each time. The changing presentations turn the window into a dynamic art platform, where young talents are given the opportunity to experiment with large-scale installations and innovative concepts.
Thanks to this collaboration between the Singer Museum, the Keep an Eye Foundation and Gallery Pouloeuff, not only a unique art presentation is created, but also a bridge between young talent and the established art circuit. This project underlines the importance of supporting emerging artists and offers them a unique opportunity to showcase their work on a prestigious stage, while surprising audiences with innovative art time and again.
Art Helpdesk
Art Helpdesk brings together a new way of patronage and talented artists to promote sustainable cultural entrepreneurship and financial stability. They work with artists working hard on a high-quality body of work. Many of them are self-employed artists who are sometimes already well underway in their careers, but often lack entrepreneurial experience. In addition, these creators often run their businesses in a challenging financial situation.
At ArtHelpdesk, young artists receive free, expert guidance from so-called ‘business buddies’. These are volunteers with a background in business who are happy to share their knowledge and experience. Instead of money, as in traditional patronage, they donate their time, attention, creativity and entrepreneurial knowledge. Together, we are building a community of artists and arts advocates, starting from the Gooi, Vecht and Eem region, where Stichting ReconnAct, the driving force behind ArtHelpdesk, is based. (But artists from other regions are also welcome!)
Keep an Eye AIR Pastoe
Keep an Eye has started a new collaboration with HKU Bachelor Fine Art to make this special idea possible. Within the curriculum of the HKU, the course wants to emphasize that thinking should take direction from the adventure of making. From this thought came the desire to see an inspiring professional, an artist, at work on the floor. Someone who lets you be part of his/her process, who you can ask questions and learn from in many ways. But unlike a regular teacher, he/she is not responsible for assessment or examination.
A residency on the course. Starting in 2021, each year an artist will be invited to use a studio at the HKU Pastoe location for three days a week. Within this studio, the artist works on the development of their own visual work. The artist will periodically open the studio to students in order to discuss the developments within the work and his/her experiences with regard to being an artist. The artist makes active use of the workshops and invites students for collaboration and assistance. Guest lectures and workshops are also given.
Keep an Eye Air Pastoe not only gives the fine art students the opportunity to speak with professional artists about their work, but also actually lets them actively see them at work in the studio or workshop.
The project concludes with an exhibition and a publication.
